NH NEWPORT — Newport Planning Board reviewed its Master Plan draft at a July meeting, incorporating 2025 census data and community input. Chairman David Burnham and board members worked with Tim Josephson of the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Region Planning Commission to advance the 110-page plan, which now includes a new Cultural Assets and Arts chapter covering aging demographics, employment data, tourism, and downtown revitalization. The board deferred updating the Future Land Use Map pending the town's revision of its zoning ordinance.
Members also debated the town's position on data centers versus high-tech industry development, with Josephson tasked to research how other municipalities have addressed data center proposals.
