NH NEWPORT — Newport Planning Board approves historic district, rejects water-sewer mandate. The board voted 4-0-1 to establish the Downtown Historic District along Main Street, refined from earlier proposals based on property-owner input following certified notice. Rachel Dilger led a 3-1 vote against recommending a multi-unit housing water-sewer connection ordinance, citing insufficient research; Scott Stanton opposed her position.
The board unanimously recommended a Permissive Zoning Ordinance and voted 5-0 to recommend an electrical easement for Hale Crossing, LLC across town rail trail property at Paradise Road.
