Board of Selectmen · Meeting of April 20, 2026
NH NEWPORT — Newport Board advances 28 warrant articles for May Town Meeting vote. Town Manager Kyle Harris outlined the package, which includes a bare-bones operating budget with an 18-cent tax rate increase driven by health insurance costs, property and liability insurance, fire department reorganization, and employee wage adjustments, along with capital articles requesting a sidewalk tractor, wheeled loader, and recreation bus, all partially supported by state grants. The Board voted unanimously to approve updated fee schedules effective May 1, modestly increasing Planning and Zoning fees by approximately $50 and aligning ambulance service rates with statutory maximums.
The Board also approved a waiver for alcohol service at a Newport Chamber of Commerce concert on August 29.
