NH NEWPORT — Board approves $11.9M budget and 18 warrant articles. The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a fiscal year 2026-27 operating budget of $11,978,931 and 18 capital warrant articles, with Chairwoman Rachel Dilger, Vice Chair Jeffrey Kessler, Selectmen James Burroughs and Herbert Tellor Jr. voting 4-0. Operating budget tax impact of $7.68 per $1,000 valuation exceeds the default budget by $651,000.
Capital projects include $217,000 for a wheel loader, $210,000 for two full-time firefighter EMT positions, and $200,000 for a sidewalk plowing machine lease-purchase; combined with all warrant articles, the tax rate is projected at $8.88 per $1,000 valuation, an increase of $0.68 from the current year.
