NH NEWPORT — Newport Selectmen approved Right-to-Know Policy to address surging public records requests from external marketing firms. Town Manager Kyle Harris explained that some requests are extensive enough to potentially require a full-time employee to process; the unanimous vote centralizes submissions through his office, ending direct departmental requests. The Board also approved road closures for three September Chamber of Commerce events, authorized Harris to sign raffle permits under state law, and approved a School District bus-use memorandum of understanding addressing insurance requirements.
Selectmen declined a towing services donation, determining the provider lacked inclusion on the new Towing Policy's approved vendor list.
